Pre-pigmented, UV-stabilised unsaturated polyester resin for FRP sheet and panel work.

About this product

Samrat FRP Traders supplies and imports UV Stabilized Sheet Grade Yellow Resin for the Nepal market. The product artwork issued by Samrat Poly Resins, India describes it as a factory-pigmented yellow unsaturated polyester sheet grade formulated with UV stabilisation for outdoor FRP sheet, cladding and panel work.

UV-stabilised is not the same thing as UV-curing. A UV-stabilised resin still cures the ordinary way — catalysed with an MEKP hardener at room temperature — and the stabiliser package is there to slow the colour change and surface degradation that sunlight causes over a sheet's service life. A UV-curing resin, by contrast, only hardens when a lamp is shone on it. This product is the first kind, and it is intended for sheets that live outdoors.

Being pre-pigmented also matters on the shop floor. The yellow is mixed at the supplier rather than stirred in by the fabricator, so the colour does not depend on how carefully pigment is dosed batch to batch. That is the usual reason a sheet line chooses a factory-pigmented grade over adding pigment paste to a clear resin.

The supplier Technical Data Sheet for this grade, SPR-TDS-USY (Rev. 01, September 2026), is linked on this page, and its headline values are listed under Technical specifications with the issuer named. Pricing, packaging and availability in Nepal are confirmed on enquiry.

What this means for buyers

UV-stabilised, not UV-cured

This resin cures with an MEKP catalyst in the normal way. The UV stabilisation addresses weathering in service, not the curing method. If you have been offered a resin that hardens under a UV lamp, that is a different product class entirely.

Pre-pigmented at the supplier

The yellow colour is part of the supplied resin, not something added during lamination. Confirm the shade against a sample if the sheet has to match existing panels on site.

Frequently asked questions

Does this resin cure under a UV lamp?

No. It is UV-stabilised, not UV-curing. It cures with an MEKP catalyst at ambient temperature like other unsaturated polyester sheet grades. The UV stabilisation is about resisting sunlight during the sheet's service life.

How is it different from ordinary Sheet Grade Yellow Resin?

Both are pre-pigmented yellow sheet grades. The supplier product artwork describes this one as carrying a UV-stabilised formulation intended for outdoor exposure. Where sheets sit in direct sun for years, that is the distinction to ask about; for indoor or sheltered panels the standard sheet grade may be sufficient.

Do I still need to add pigment?

No. The resin is supplied already pigmented yellow. Fabricators choose a factory-pigmented grade precisely to avoid colour variation between hand-mixed batches.

What is it used for?

The supplier product artwork lists FRP roofing sheets, cladding panels, coloured FRP sheets, industrial panels and moulded or laminated parts. Suitability for a specific sheet should be confirmed against the supplier's own documentation.

Can you send the technical data sheet?

Yes. The supplier Technical Data Sheet, SPR-TDS-USY (Rev. 01, September 2026), is linked on this page for download and listed in our document library.
