Begin with the finished FRP sheet
A buyer searching for a clear polyester resin may actually have a roof-light sheet requirement. The useful first question is whether the finished component is a documented roof-light, skylight or translucent-sheet application, rather than whether both products appear clear.
Roof Light Sheet Grade Resin is supplied water white and published for the roof-light role. GP Clear Resin is the separately published general-purpose clear orthophthalic product route.
Do not transfer data between product routes
Each product has its own TDS, technical values and published applications. A shared polyester family does not allow viscosity, gel time, storage, UV or finished-sheet expectations to be carried from one route to the other.
Use the roof-light page where its documented sheet-specific role matches the requirement. Use GP Clear where its documented general-purpose role matches the actual component. Neither route is a universal substitute for the other.
Prepare a focused comparison discussion
Record the finished sheet, roof-light or skylight requirement if applicable, required supplied appearance, reinforcement context if known, expected quantity and delivery location. Include the relevant drawing or purchase specification when available.
If a sheet requires a pre-pigmented yellow route instead, review Sheet Grade Yellow Resin. If a mould-facing finish is a separate requirement, review the Gelcoat product role independently.

This comparison is a product-role guide. It does not claim a formulation, optical, UV, weathering or mechanical-performance advantage beyond the published product data.
Frequently asked questions
Is GP Clear Resin automatically the same as Roof Light Resin?
No. The site publishes them for different product roles. GP Clear Resin is the general-purpose clear route; Roof Light Sheet Grade Resin is the water-white roof-light and skylight-sheet route. Review the current TDS for the actual product.
Does this comparison state which resin has better clarity or weathering?
No. It separates the documented product roles. It does not assign unverified optical or outdoor-performance values.
